Barbara regularly supports various area community and charitable organizations with donations of beautiful and unique finished pieces as well as gift certificates for raffles and auctions. The most recent recipients include Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, the Amherst Symphony, Musical Fare Theatre, The Elmwood Franklin School and Child & Adolescent Treatment Services (CATS). Lisa Hunter Jewelry also has had the opportunity to design special pieces to raise funds for the Steadfast Foundation, Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller's organization that supports children with cancer.
Buffalo, New York is notorious for its weather but also for its pride and sense of community. Barbara welcomes the opportunity to give back to the city she calls home.
